I Wanna Be A Cowboy: Red Dead Redemption
Be A Cowboy In Red Dead Redemption
On the world stage Americans have a reputation for being Cowboys. Unfortunately it has a bad connotation. It’s used to characterize Americans as reckless, irresponsible and out of control. But cowboys are the opposite. They are strong, fearless, and courageous. We all have a little bit of cowboy in us. We all want to believe we have these respectable character traits and Rockstar gave us that opportunity with the video game Red Dead Redemption.
Finally, we could truly move, act, and live like a cowboy. Rockstar exported all the gameplay mechanics, fluid graphics, and incredible story-telling of the GTA franchise into the cowboy based game Red Dead Redemption. Despite being a copy of sorts of GTA, Red Dead is truly its own game. The open world of Red Dead Redemption meant that you could travel through the Wild West, participating in seemingly un-ending variety of events. Red Dead Redemption epitomized what being a cowboy is all about by allowing you to take your time and explore the West. There is no rush. Like a cowboy, your actions were bold and deliberate and if you had to, you did not think twice about pulling out your revolver and shooting down a bandit where he stood. The storyline is a righteous one and along the way you encounter opportunities to help strangers in their pleas for assistance or cut down a gang riding through town shooting, essentially saving the town and getting honor and fame.
You would not be a cowboy without a horse, a lasso, and of course gambling. Rockstar was keen to implement all these gameplay features into Red Dead Redemption, allowing the player to get the full Cowboy Experience. Not only can you ride your trusty steed, and lasso a fugitive on the run for their bounty pay, you can also sit down at a table of poker and pit your gambling skills against high rollers.
Gambling In Red Dead Redemption
As it turns out, gambling in Red Dead Redemption is one of the funnest aspects of the game. If you fancy yourself a Poker Player you can really appreciate the interaction and functionality of the game’s mechanics. If you are new to Poker Playing, the game eased you into it, allowing you to easily learn and reap the rewards of a winning hand. Read Dead Redemption’s Poker Playing feature is an opportunity to turn your luck around if you are low on cash, but also a dangerous proposition if you’re pockets are filled and you don’t know what you’re doing. True to form, in the Wild West anything goes, and it was only natural to include Poker into Red Dead Redemption. After putting your life on the line gun slinging and jumping off and on to moving trains, you can raise the stakes even more by sitting down with some less than reputable characters for a hand of poker, because after all, the cowboy in you does not back down from any challenge.
